# The Lizard and the Machine: Maintaining Human Integrity In a Machine Speed World

Welcome to our Gitbook! Myself and my collaborators at Bicameral Ventures have spent almost five years investing, building, making, breaking and re-making the building blocks of what we think about as the Economy of Integrity. We've written thousands of words and recorded hours of videos digging into all of the technology, business models, mindsets, emotions, history, and regulation that underpin this new world, but have never had the opportunity to weave it all together into the tapestry of what we hope is a kind of grand unifying theory.

Much like the open-source project it is; this book will constantly evolve. We actively want feedback from technologists, biologists, philosophers, financiers, writers, dreamers, black sheep, conformists and non-conformists alike. The unifying thread of all of this being that we're all humans, and as big as the worlds problems seem, in the end all the institutions and technologies are just our own constructs. Often times we've built them to emulate the worst of our nature, but just as we've been remaking ourselves for thousands of years, we can apply all of these lessons to remake all of the things we've built in a better image. Without further ado: The Lizard and the Machine.
